We are proud to be a part of a movement bigger than ourselves.
Every year, an estimated 640,000 tons of discarded fishing nets and gear pollute our oceans. There may be more plastic than fish in the ocean, by 2050. We are the first and only clinic in Texas to highlight the Sea2See collection of frames, and are gradually reshaping the optical world by showcasing beautiful products made purely out of ocean plastic.
Next in our spotlight: the ECO frame collection, made from 95% recycled metal and bio-based material. The bio-based frames are crafted using castor seed oil, making the design lightweight, comfortable, and sustainable. Fun fact: ECO plants a tree for every frame sold.
ECO has also teamed with ‘Waste Free Oceans’, an NGO that works with local fishermen who collect used plastic fishing nets, ropes, and trawls from the ocean. This recycled plastic is transformed into the exquisite ECO OCEAN frame collection.
WHY? Because all big changes are a result of many small choices.
Make a difference, one frame at a time.
Vision Impacts Learning.
We aim to spread awareness of the utmost importance of a comprehensive vision + eye health exam among all students, K-12 and beyond! 1 in 4 kids have a vision condition that can impact their learning, behavior, personality, and self-esteem. At Local Eyes Optometry, we strive to ensure your child is truly seeing the best they can see to succeed. As a bonus, we carry an adorable selection of kids’ frames to make them feel their cutest, and coolest.
Medical Conditions Can Affect Vision.
We want you to maintain your gift of sight, for as long as you live. Conditions like Diabetes, Hypertension, Thyroid Dysfunction, Multiple Sclerosis, or even Obstructive Sleep Apnea can impact your vision and eye health. At times, optometrists are the first in your healthcare team to see signs of such diseases, manifesting in various structures of the eye. Our goal is for you to be proactive and care for your eyes.
We are one of the few offices in Texas that carry the latest in retinal imaging technology. The DRS Plus differs from other traditional retinal screening devices due to the incredibly high resolution retinal, macular, and optic nerve images it provides in true color. The doctor can zoom in to view fine details of your retinal blood vessels and nerve fibers, which can help detect many early-stage diseases. No eye drops, no side effects.
Local Family, Local Business.
